CardFlight, the leading SaaS payment technology company, today announced its inclusion in the 2020 Inc. 5000 list. This year marks CardFlight’s third consecutive year on the list, an award program published by Inc. to acknowledge the 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. In making the 2020 list, CardFlight joins a select group of top private companies nationwide that have received the award three times—less than ten percent of companies who have made the Inc. 5000 since its inception in 1982 have been able to achieve sustainable enough growth to make the list thrice.

“We’re honored to be a part of the Inc. 5000 yet again. CardFlight’s inclusion for the third year in a row is due entirely to the commitment, ingenuity, and work ethic of our team, and the vigorous progress they’ve driven across the board in our product development, revenue growth, and merchant count,” said Derek Webster, CardFlight Founder and CEO. “We’ve been humbled to see our hard work and passion for supporting small business owners be recognized every year since CardFlight first became eligible by a leading entrepreneur-focused publication like Inc. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers and collaborate with our partners to grow small businesses across America.”

From 2016 to 2019, CardFlight grew 162 percent, an accomplishment made possible by the company’s industry-leading team and top-tier technology. The publication uses companies’ revenue growth over the prior three years to assess and rank applicants for each year’s list—CardFlight’s inclusion on the 2020, 2019, and 2018 lists demonstrates its robust revenue and vigorous revenue growth rate from its first full year of business in 2014 to present. For the 2020 list, CardFlight’s strong three-year growth rate placed the company at number 2543 on the list.

“As one of the first CardFlight employees hired in 2013, the past seven years spent growing this company have been an incredible journey,” commented Paul Tower, Senior Director of Application Development at CardFlight. “I’m grateful to have been able to contribute to building CardFlight into what it is today, and I look forward to many more years of helping to develop simple-to-use payments technology for small business merchants.”

With a mission of building the future of payments for small business owners nationwide, the CardFlight team has created cutting-edge solutions that make it easy and secure for merchants to accept payments on the go, in their stores, and at their computers using the company’s signature SwipeSimple software. Developed specifically for CardFlight’s unique sales channel, SwipeSimple’s flexible model and user-friendly interface are designed precisely to allow small business owners to effortlessly make the transition from older, outdated payment terminals.

“Being included on this list for the third year in a row is yet another sign of CardFlight’s sustained, stellar growth—a feat that wouldn’t have been possible without our great partners,” said Natalia Leonardis, Vice President of Business Development at CardFlight who also has been with the company since 2013. “We believe in the value of our channel and are grateful to our partners who have collaborated with us to bring innovative, reliable solutions to merchants everywhere.”

SwipeSimple, the signature product built upon the CardFlight platform, is a SaaS application sold through merchant acquirers, financial institutions, and independent sales organizations -- including ten of the top 25 U.S. merchant acquirers. As the payments industry continues to adapt to reflect today’s consumer needs and changing technology, CardFlight evolves SwipeSimple in tandem, so that the company’s partners and their customers can continue to access the tools they need to build and grow small businesses nationwide.

Methodology

The 2020 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2019. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2016 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
