NEW YORK, May 4, 2017 — CardFlight, a mobile point of sale (POS) provider, is launching the Swift B200 and Swift B250, a new series of mobile cards readers utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity to enable merchants nationwide to accept secure EMV and NFC contactless payments on Android and iOS devices. CardFlight will also be one of the first mobile payment solution providers to support Consumer Device Cardholder Verification Method (CDCVM), a new standard in contactless payments.
The Swift B200 will allow merchants to accept EMV chip card and magnetic stripe payments by connecting via Bluetooth Low Energy to a smartphone or a tablet device running CardFlight’s SwipeSimple mobile point-of-sale software or utilizing CardFlight’s Software Development Kit. The Swift B250 card reader similarly supports EMV and magnetic stripe, with the added benefit of allowing merchants to accept NFC contactless payments and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay. The SwipeSimple platform enables merchant service providers, banks, independent sales organizations and other financial institutions to offer a great EMV-enabled mobile point-of-sale solution to their merchants. Key features of the new Swift series of readers include:
CardFlight Swift B200 and Swift B250
Additionally, CardFlight will be one of the first mobile payment solution providers to support Consumer Device Cardholder Verification Method (CDCVM), which is a type of verification method supported by the card networks for transactions originating from mobile devices. CDCVM transactions have additional layers of security over traditional tap-and-go or other payment types, and take advantage of advanced authentication technology such as Apple’s Touch ID while using card network-assigned payment tokens instead of primary account numbers. When using CDCVM, no additional customer action is required on the payment terminal or paper receipt to verify the customer, such as a signature or PIN. “CDCVM means an easier payment experience for consumers and a more secure transaction for merchants with less risk of fraud,” said Derek Webster, Founder & CEO at CardFlight. “CardFlight is proud to be an industry-leader in enabling secure technologies like CDCVM on mobile POS solutions. The new Swift B200 and B250 include a broad suite of secure and market-leading technologies, including EMV, NFC, Quick Chip, CDCVM and Bluetooth Low Energy. CardFlight has once again raised the bar on mobile point-of-sale.”
CardFlight will be exhibiting at ETA TRANSACT 2017 in Las Vegas, Nev. from May 10-12, 2017, where the devices will be on display at CardFlight’s booth 715.
The Swift B200 and Swift B250 devices are currently in certification with multiple major U.S. payment processors. CardFlight is accepting pre-orders now through May 31, with the first devices shipping to partners in late summer 2017.
