New York, NY and Boston, MA – October 20, 2015 — Cayan, The Payment Possibilities Company™, and CardFlight, a top mobile point of sale (POS) technology provider, today announced an agreement to offer EMV-ready mobile payment acceptance solutions to Cayan partners and merchants. As part of the partnership, Cayan will offer CardFlight’s SwipeSimple product as its preferred mobile POS solution for merchants looking to accept credit and chip card payments from smartphones and tablets.
Launched in 2014, SwipeSimple’s technology features encrypted EMV-ready mobile card readers, payment acceptance applications for iOS and Android devices, real-time reporting and admin dashboards for merchants, and a reseller portal for easy onboarding and portfolio management. Cayan will process SwipeSimple transactions leveraging CardFlight’s PCI-DSS Level 1 Compliant payment gateway.
Beginning October 1, merchants in the United States who had not upgraded their point of sale systems to accept EMV transactions became liable for counterfeit card fraud occurring at their stores due to the inability to accept EMV chip card payments. By partnering with CardFlight, Cayan merchants can use encrypted mobile card readers that accept both chip cards and traditional magnetic stripe credit cards on both iOS and Android mobile devices via CardFlight’s SwipeSimple software. This partnership offers Cayan merchants the peace of mind that they will not be vulnerable to the potentially devastating costs associated with fraudulent charges via magnetic stripe cards.
“In the weeks since the EMV liability shift, Cayan has continued to establish partnerships with companies like CardFlight to provide our partners and merchants with the best technology options for EMV acceptance at the point of sale,” said Marc Castrechini, Vice President of Product Management at Cayan. “Cayan’s standalone and integrated POS solutions are EMV-ready, and this partnership extends that capability to the mobile POS, offering the same level of compliance to merchants who accept payments using tablets or smartphones.”
“Cayan is a leader in offering differentiated payments technology to their customers and integrated partners,” said Derek Webster, Founder and CEO of CardFlight. “We’re excited to be working with them to offer a great solution to enable Cayan merchants to accept payments on their mobile devices.”
